Everything was getting better until Gwendoline decided to write that nasty entry in her journal. It's awful now. Everyone was so looking forward to the ramble but now everyone is angry and unhappy. I don't know what to do about Daphne either. She was going on about Bill and Clarissa even before she received that letter from Lady Car all this ( Read more... )

When it comes to Bill and Clarissa, it's unladylike and unfriendly to to point out that I told you so, so I won't. But the poor girls are so unhappy now, and it could have been avoided so easily. Poor Clarissa... she should really have gone to the San.

I don't understand why you feel like you have to do anything about me at all. I assure you that I'm perfectly fine, and it hurts me that my best friend would insinuate that there's something wrong with my caring. Doesn't Alice take up enough of your time, in any case?

I'm going to go give Mavis an audience for her singing practice. All this fuss has quite thrown her practice off - she's been most distressed about it. If you want me us, we'll be in one of the music rooms.

Mary Lou, you are a breath of fresh air. I feel as if I needed to hear from you, to keep me from going mad in the midst of all this horrid bickering!

I do like to hear about young Alice, your new admirer. And what a laugh it is to think of good old Zerelda! She was a pain to begin with, all right -- Darrell talked of nothing else in her letters! -- but in the end she was a decent sort of girl, wasn't she? Even if her acting wasn't 'wunnerful!'

Clarissa's heart is sometimes a worry, I agree with you there. If she won't go to the San., there's just nothing for it but to keep an eye on her and not let her run off on her own. You might be just the sort of company she needs, now that I think of it! A nice, understanding, quiet, solid type of girl for Clarissa to confide in. Oh, do go speak to her a little, will you?
