Something tells me that this question is directed to your beta-reader friend and not your average blog readers, but I do have to ask: you're talking about an original novel you're working on (along with your Beta's proofreading) that's yet unpublished, right? Well, I for one would be very inrpterested in reading a synopsis like that.
Hello! Thanks for stopping by, and for your interest. My journal's a bit of a mess as far as indexing goes, but, if you click over on the sidebar under "honor" or "science fiction", you should be able to find my first draft opening pages and also drafts of queries. The query is related to a blurb, and is meant to intrigue people, so I'v no problem with sharing that! (I have a book trailer, too). Still not sure about the synopsis, which is supposed to tell the entire story in two or three pages. But I'll be interested to hear what you think of these other snippets.
