Some thoughts on the Oscars-

I don't usually watch the Oscars - and there have been a lot of people refusing to watch because DH was slighted, etc. Well, most of the time, my favorite movies haven't been nominated, and I can't remember the last time a movie I hoped would win best picture actually won. Apparently, if I'm remembering the NY Times rightly, it will be on HBO in April. I'll double check for you.

Thank you for writing about Mother Dolores. Since I didn't watch, I hadn't heard about the documentaries - and no one seems to mention those in reviews. Lovely story! When my daughter is home over the summer I'll try to get that through her Netflix.

Thanks for that link - had seen two others, including the NY Times, but not that article.

And yeah, that's the thing. All these documentaries seem fantastic. I got pretty tired of the show pretty fast, but I do think it's important to remember that, somewhere in there, real and generous and gifted artists are being honoured.
