As much as I actually liked The Blind Side, in what universe is it remotely as great as A Single Man? (Though yes, the directing was a bit too pretentious.)

Dear John was tedious. I thought the last twenty minutes would never end.

"If one of the girls was a boy"? Umm... isn't the fact that it's two girls kind of the whole point of Fucking Amal's love story (as is the realistic depiction of teenagers as being annoying)?
As for love at first sight, I actually experienced that once.

I still want to watch Young Victoria. I really like Emily Blunt.

And what did you expect from a sci-fi channel movie? 95% of them suck by default.

I guess in the only one I know by heart: mine ;D And I stand behind the equality 100%. I'm curious, what makes the latter so much better than the former in your opinion ( ... )

Alice? Excellent? No. Just no. Agree to disagree. Never watched Tin Man, but you're the first one I know who actually liked it. Everyone else on my flist hated it.

Yeah, about the girl-on-girl thing, it isn't enough to make it ground breaking to me. Or to render it any sort of slack. Like I've commented on the past, it's actually done in exaustion these days.

Yeah, but see, this movie is THIRTEEN YEARS old. It was groundbreaking back then.
And yes, really, it was love at first sight. Not lust. At least from my side. Took him a bit longer to fall for me.

A Single Man is better cause The Blind Side still is a trite story about the rich white family helping out the poor black man, and it even features an annoying little kid. I liked it, but it's no better than all the stereotypical rom-coms you usually despise.

*lol* Really? No love for Alice? Why is that? Poor thing... :) Kidding aside, I truly enjoyed! I watched the first part and couldn't wait for the second one to finish downloading so I could promptly watch it. People on my own flist seemed to like it as well. Oh, well... Let's agree to disagree.

Yes, I'm sure that if I had seen it 13 years ago I'd find it quite fresh and ground-breaking (and I would probably be a bit shocked too, considering I would be 11 *lol*). However, the fact is I've watched it now. Not waaaay back then.

Trite? I don't think so. Especially being a real life story. You don't see *that* on the news everyday. And I definitely didn't see it as a "story about the rich white family helping out the poor black man". I saw it as a real story of kindness, and the meaning and the importance of family. Now, just to be clear, I don't "despise" rom-coms. The lawyer part of me insists on the correction of the term. It's just harder for them to win me completely over. Since they are all quite the same, and most times lack charm ( ... )
