So, I wandered over to Flickr this morning to open an account and post some photos. They informed me that I already have an account ( Read more... )

Well, if you need an intervention, I need to be locked up! I create accounts everywhere (except facebook. I'm scared of facebook.) I should count just to make sure, but I'd say I have more than fifty.

More than fifty!??!! Whoa!! I think you may need to be locked up! Are you like me with a special notebook devoted to login names and their corresponding passwords? I think all these websites are secretly an excuse to help me avoid writing. Hah!

Only nine? LOL

I try to limit myself to places I will actually remember to go back to. I opened a facebook account so I could post pictures of my family to share with other family members and now have a 75 year old aunt who is IMing me and wanting to "chat".

Oy vey....

I love that your aunt is 'connected'. That's great.

Since posting this, I've found a few more (I don't dare say how many more...) places that I've opened accounts. (Seriously, how many g-mail accounts does a person need?)

::chuckle::

I always worry about forgetting my passwords. So, I never allow the computer to remember them for me--because then I would be doomed. DOOMED I SAY!

I worry about the same. I decided today's chore will be converting all my passwords into one standard password, so I only have to remember that and then, in my beautiful new writing journal I will make a list of all the websites I frequent, cuz, yanno, it beats writing.

Ya, I have a family/friends only facebook and I don't post much of anything there except things I would be happy telling God, so I feel okay about that one. I'm public on twitter but I don't have too many followers and I'm a complete and total twitter dork - I've no idea what to do over there, so I don't worry too much about that.

It's the random sites, like flickr, photobucket, paypal, amazon, ebay (to name a few) that I've opened accounts in ficticious names and too many passwords to remember.

Sometimes I think the internet will implode from cyber abuse because of people like me clogging up the airspace with nonsense. Though I do think if anything brings it all crashing down, it will probably be twitter long before it's little ole me.

And here's the deal, yeah, 9 bits and bobs with your signature upon them. My guess is not one of them is mean or nasty or vile in any way. No plotting, posturing, or pissoffedness--not that they are vanilla at all==just you in all your gloriousness.

I'm pearlseed most everywhere, except idiot Facebook, where I suppose it's me...it truly amazes me becos I think I got along without these things before, can I get along without them now? Would I wait for your letter by the mailbox? Would I figure out the postage due for New Zealand or the UK? Would I discuss in private what I blather here?

Would I share my secret name with you and find the perfect nickname to make you my very own? I like to think this me writing here is just the me I am--I like to imagine I get pretty darn close to who I am behind the scrim of the internetty...tis so cos I likes you and what you've writ I've read. Good to hear one of your selves has surfaced!

Thanks, luv. Many of my selves have surfaced. They all bear a striking resemblance to me. Go figure. Haha.

And it's amazing how well we got on without them just a few years ago. The other night we had a power outtage here - thought we'd all go crazy without our electronic devices. Thank heavens for kids - they grabbed their acoustic instruments and put on a show.
