Licia, I love you so very, very much but I still continue to disagree with you on this. The superdelegate process was in place long before this election began and was created to give elected officials and important activists in the party the chance to vote their conscience. A superdelegate vote counts the same as a regular delegate - as 1. There are still about 500 superdelegates that have not yet pledged.

However, since I'm not terribly unreasonable, I will sign the petition if it also includes a provision that the superdelegates from Massachusetts like John Kerry and Ted Kennedy also vote to reflect the will of the voters from their state.

There is nothing to disagree with here. I signed in order to ask our Senators to consider the feelings of the voters before they cast their votes as superdelegates. I don't believe the rules should be changed. I'm just making it known to them that I will be watching how they vote and will take this information into consideration when voting for them (or not) in upcoming elections. They can take this information and do whatever they want with it.

Additionally, I think voters in Massachusetts should do the same thing if they feel strongly enough.

No. The senators have a vote. They can vote however they want. They only count as two delegates. Unfortunately this election is so close that every delegate counts.

Superdelegates sounds like super friends or something. I'm thinking it is Obama all the way. Just hope he wins!
