rebeccaann08 and I have been discussing this comm, and we’ve decided to switch things up a little bit. Up until this point, claims have been character or pairing based. However, as people have mentioned (and we ourselves both agree with), that can be both boring and limiting. So we’re changing our claiming rules.
Starting with round 03, here are the rules for claims (inspired greatly by
scifi20in20:
Movie/TV Show: You can claim an entire movie or TV show (ex. Captain America or Smallville). If you choose this, however, you must icon at least three characters from your claim.
Character: You can icon one specific character. Any movie or TV show they appear in is yours to use. However, we understand there are sequels and remakes of movies. If movies are meant to be part of a series (for example, XMFC, the Xmen trilogy, Xmen Origins: Wolverine), you may use the character as he/she appears in any of the movies, even if played by different actors (so both Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy would be appropriate if you claimed Charles Xavier). However, if the movies are not meant to be sequels of each other, as the case in remakes, you may only claim one version. You cannot claim, for example, both Christian Bale’s Batman and Michael Keaton’s Batman, or Christopher Reeve’s Superman and Tom Welling’s Superman.
Episode: If you claim an episode of a TV show, all icons must be from that episode, and at least two different characters must be iconned.
Season: If you claim a whole season of a TV show, all icons must be from that season and at least three different characters must be iconned.
Pairing: You may claim a pairing if you wish. Pairings don’t necessarily need to be romantic - you can claim friends, siblings, or even mortal enemies. Claiming a pairing just means you’re choosing to icon those two characters together. However, claiming a pairing does not mean claiming two separate characters. Both characters must appear in at least 15 of your icons.
Story Arc: You may choose a certain story arc. For example, you could choose Thor’s time on Midgard in Thor or Charles and Erik’s travels to recruit mutants in XMFC. If you do so, all icons must be from that story arc, and at least two characters must be iconned.
Group: You may choose an entire group as your claim, such as the Lady Sif and Warriors Three, or Asgardians. Not every person in your group needs to be in every icon, but at least three members of your group should be iconned in your set.
Because of the extended list of options, only one person will be allowed each claim, and claims will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis.
If you have any questions or think we should add/remove/change any of our new rules, please let us know! We greatly value your opinions and if you don’t like this, we want to know so we can make adjustments or new rules.
