the rock under which i hid

The word of the week is: BOREDOM. I never know how to deal with its onslaught; it's like an awkward rash I always try to shake. First we were at the dacha for 2 days. Wonderful, but record high temps and no fans, let alone A/C. Sleeping and swimming were heavenly; otherwise a bit dull. Especially when my computer wouldn't switch to the AC Adapter ( Read more... )

boredom, friends, work, family

I reach her @ hollywugo@hotmail.com, but that may not be her primary account. She's in Chicago for the rest of the week and is going to meet up with Jeff. Craziness... I hear Mal's not coming to see you anymore? Bummer.

BTW, feel free to save any pics for your own amusement that you like.

alright, i have an airline flight on polish air for 372 flying kiev, warsaw, warsaw to krakow.

we don't offer any trains that go directly from ukraine to poland, unfortunately. we have the eurorail system, so we do have a european east pass, which is good in poland and is $230 first class and $162 second class and is good for any 5 days of unlimited travel in a one month period. cheaper, but you'd have to be able to get a local train to the edge of poland.

so anywho, that's what i've got :-) do you need hotels/hostels when you're in krakow? i've been there and its GORGEOUS! you'll love it.

you've been to krakow?? what were you doing there? well we should have started on that note. i'm going to be visiting mandie, who is starting grad school there a week or two before i get there. i am hoping, though, that she'll be able to explore the town and area with me. but in any case, what should i see and do?? i am shooting for a week there, not planning to go farther than maybe the tatras mountains and/or auschwitz.

i'm pretty sure a train ticket will be under $100 and i already know it's a 12-hour overnight train which is so not a problem for me (almost something to look forward to.) thanks for checking - the flight with transfers would probably take almost as long.

yay something to look forward to :)

Yuck... I hate it when my compie doesn't work/isn't available.

Isn't that wierd how it's only easy to be productive when you're too busy? And you always think that if you only had the time, you'd do so much more. But when you do have the time, you opt not to.

Which, somehow, seems like the smartest choice.

I couldn't agree more! Got a never-ending list of things I wanna do "when I have time" and I follow through with no more than 10 percent. I should really stop kidding myself and decide to turn away the things I'll never get to. But sometimes I really do think I'll do the thing. Oy, I dunno. Maybe it's the fact that the worst feeling for me is having NOTHING to do and NO ONE being around (*cough* like right now *cough*) and not having that thing-I've-put-off on hand. The again, those are the days I clean out my inbox and wait for the adventures to start up again. :-P

I used to HATE that feeling when I was a kid. Summer was the worst. But I think growing up an only child trained me to make fun by myself. So now I don't mind doing as much stuff alone.
