Humans and mutants alike enjoy their holidays. They have large ones such as Christmas and New Years Day. They have them throughout the different seasons such as Easter in the spring and Halloween in the fall. They even have silly holidays such as International Talk Like A Pirate Day

Josh had managed to borrow Dani's junker of a jeep to head into town to visit Laurie. He hadn't seen his girlfriend in a bit. They kept in touch, but there was something to be said about actually being with Laurie. He just hoped Laurie's Mom wasn't home. He pulled into the driveway. he checked his appearance in the crooked rearview mirror.

Looking good, Foley, he thought as he ran his fingers through his hair to get it just so. He snagged the daisy on the passenger's seat and hopped out of the jeep.

He tried to look confident as he approached the front door.

Laurie had been reading when she heard the jeep pull into her mom's driveway. Her mom had just called to say she'd be another forty-five minutes, so... She peeked out of the window to see what was up. That was Dani's jeep. And Josh. He could have called. Eep!

She was in sweat-pants and a tank-top, and the best she could go was check that her hair looked alright before he was at the door. She opened it and looked as surprised as she felt. "Uh... Hi? I didn't know you were coming."

Josh gave her a lopsided grin. It was a bonus that her mother had not opened the door. He held out the daisy to her.

"I thought I'd surprise you on this most magnificent of international holidays." Sometimes, lazy surfing on Wikipedia got him something useful. Mostly not.

Um. Alllright? She took the daisy, paused, looked plenty questioning. "Uh. Which holiday's that?"
