...There was really only one thing to do when temperatures hit above the ninety degree mark. There was only one, sure fire way to beat the heat.

"CANONBAAAAAAAAAAAAL!" A girl, who at the time of her bellowing appeared to be a whirl of bright pink and purple, runs to the pool and jumps in.

Yeah, she doesn't care if she splashes anyone.

With the ease of many years with darn near a dozen siblings, Liz rolled out of splash range. Once she was reasonably sure she was safe, she resumed attempting to become one with the shade.

"Watch it, would yuh? Some of us don't like the humidity!"

That was an impressive splash range, wasnt' it?

"Sorry!" Calliope called after she surfaced and started to tread the water. "What are you doing?"

"Thinkin' about the benefits of diggin' a cave somewhere to get out of the heat," Liz said, looking around to making sure no boys were watching before pulling her tank top up a little higher to expose more skin to whatever breezes happened by in the hopes it would cool her off more. "New York heat and Kentucky heat ain't very much alike, and I ain't used to the New York heat."

Somewhere in the city... At a Starbucks! joanofalltrades May 28 2010, 03:25:13 UTC
Kate took off the bright green cardigan from over the dress that she was wearing. Her office was air conditioned, too much so. She was not typically hot-natured but nor was she cold-natured either. It was hot out!

She ducked into a Starbucks. A frappuccino, she had decided, would help cool her off.

If she had to be hot and bothered, this was not the way she wanted to go about that.

The Streets of New York shatterstar May 29 2010, 02:29:18 UTC
He hadn't been present at Xavier's for awhile. Things had been too quiet and peaceful. The rules on not maiming the students when he got too twitchy from inaction were too restrictive. Even if some of them really, really deserved it. So, he had left.

Shatterstar had looked for training or a purpose. He wandered the continent. He got into more fights in bars than he could count. Only a handful were for money to help pay for his journey to continue. He had taken a long train ride back to New York City. He found trains were an easier way to go since his need to get up and walk around was less of a hassle and less frowned upon. Especially when he managed to get to the roof of the train cars for some stance training.

Now, he was walking the streets of New York with his sword case strapped on his back and a duffel bag in his hand. He could go back to Xavier's, but that didn't feel right. So, he would find some place in the large metropolis for a momentary rest or some action.
