Moving Day

After everything was said and done and the ashes and dust settled they had finally gotten their home loan through. It wasn't huge, but the little condo had everything they needed to be comfortable. And, being a condo, she could paint it and decorate it the way she wanted

Alex was laying on the floor, utterly spent. Moving was hard work. But he had his laptop set up and charging, his giant stuffed M&M on the couch, and the coffeemaker had a full pot of Kona.

"Ugh." he said intelligently to Lorna as she arrived with food. "Grab a beer out of the fridge?" he asked her, too spent by far to be arsed to get up and get his own beer.

Married life was wonderful, he had to conclude.

Lorna looked down at her husband and even poked him once with her foot as she walked by and cleared a spot on the table for the food. She retrieved the beer via the metal in the cap. Bottles, not cans. She got one for herself too and walked back over, holding it down for him.

"Should we set up on the floor too? Make a picnic of it?"

"If it means I don't have to move I am all for it." he said with a grin. Looking up at Lorna from this angle was always interesting. He made with the grabbyhands for his beer and then looked at her with the Soulful Summers Pathetic Face. "Open it for me?" he asked.

"Admit it, Mister Summers, you married me so I could open your beer bottles," Lorna said coyly as she did just that, the metal caps sticking to hand. She had this down to an art form. One of the few power things she had actually worked on back in college.

Her father used his powers to further the cause of mutant freedom (or domination) and Lorna used hers to open beer bottles. She snorted to herself.

"There, all open for you. Because I love you."
