Couldn't Return Empty Handed

He had contacted them shortly after he left. He told them all that he'd be gone for a few days, because he had something very personal to take care of, and to only contact him in the event of another emergency.

Which, thankfully, there wasn't.

No one questioned him, because they all knew how much he hated to be questioned. And they knew he'd ( Read more... )

Melody was engaging in her one of her favorite sports: lurking around until something gossip-worthy happened. That's how she was first among the students to notice Mr. Summers arrival with the pretty red haired woman.

The woman looked kinda familiar, but Melody couldn't place her until Mr. Summers called her "Jean." Then recognition dawned, and Mel realized she was looking at someone who was supposed to be dead but obviously wasn't. And that could only mean one thing!

She turned and zipped away to her room, yelling. "SAAALLL! We got zombies in the school!"

Sal had been hammering out a very gooey I'm-fine email to Lisa when she heard Melody's yell.

It was kind of like an air-raid siren.

She smirked and added to Lisa's email, ...And apparently there are zombies. I'm inclined to believe that this school is going to shatter my perceptions on pretty much everything.

By the time she was finished that, Mel was pretty close to the door. Sal turned around in her chair, waiting for the onslaught.

"SAL!" Melody somehow came to a screeching halt, despite being in mid-air. "Mr. Summers! Corpse Bride! Ya gotta come cleanse the scourge with your holy fire!"

She's doing her damnedest to haul Sal out the door.

Sal sighed.

"This's a school, not World of Warcraft..." But she stood up and let herself be hauled.

At least this was someone who was supposed to be dead being alive instead of the inverse.

Laura noticed Summers arrival and noticed he wasn't alone, but that was about the extent of her interest in it.

Sean was no telepath. But he did have very, very good hearing. And it didn't take him long to track down that familiar fellow redhead. There was only one thing Sean Cassidy could say in this situation, and there probably wasn't anyone around who couldn't predict it:

"Saints be praised! You're alive!"

Jean smiled. "I am. Good to see you, Sean."
