Josh felt something twist in the pit of his stomach. That had to be one of the suckiest manifestations he had ever heard of. His own had been golly gee willikers fine in comparison. And there was not one bit of sympathy on the screen.
"Not like any of us control when we manifest," Josh groused slightly.

"I cannot imagine what he must be feeling." To accidentally have killed your father because of what you are- what you just found out you are. It was horrible.

"Mr. Summers, I'm Agent Justin Pierce, FBI." His ID was shown, then flipped back and tucked back into his jacket, and his hand was held out. "Thank you for taking the time to see me."

"Deputy Director Collins sent me your way." Collins being the one that'd let them handle the mutant that was clawing up people in the city on their own terms. "I need to discuss the Ford case with you."
He likely didn't have to clarify what the "Ford" case was.
Shard had been taking a run when the radio station she was listening to started talking about it. She made a disgusted noise, reaching down to flip the channel.
She was never going to understand the way that people went on about this. What happened was hardly the boy's fault, but there was nothing in place for this. Such dangerous powers weren't common, thankfully, but the X.S.E. had been prepared. But then, the mutant gettoes had been more self-contained. Reaching the boy would have been easy. It should have been easy.
Wherever the boy was, she hoped he found help before those that wanted him dead found him.

Vance had been keeping track of the media blitz. It hadn't been his intention at first, but the more he heard, the harder it was to turn away from it. Mostly because it hit hard and in places that hadn't quite finished healing after fighting those zombies.
He sat on the couch, remote on the table and TV turned to the show with the parents. He wasn't gritting his teeth but it was a near enough thing. There was a part of him wondering if his mother had thought like that. Maybe she still did, actually.

Teddy wasn't too far behind Danny, leaning against the door frame and glaring at the so-called parents on the television. He still didn't understand how someone could say those sort of things about their own child.

The TV flickered off as Vance turned toward the kids. He hadn't even touched the remote, but it was fairly easy when you had telekinesis. "Hey. I didn't realize you guys were still here."
Shaking his head, he pushed himself off the couch to stand. "Some of them are reacting out of honest fear. Others are acting out of a desire to actually help him. It's the other ninety-nine percent that need to be worried about."

Erik flipped his television off, then shook his head sadly. The same fear, the same paranoia, and the same anger.
Humans would never learn.
He'd seen it time and time again. The fear, the anger, the hatred of that which was different. And this boy possessed a talent where he could apparently kill with a touch. Young, frightened, out-of-control ... intriguing.
He picked up a very special phone and dialed a series of digits from memory.

"Scott." he said, his voice fairly unmistakable, even over the long-distance phone connection.
"I trust you've heard about Mr Ford?" he asked. "I'm prepared to offer full cooperation and assistance in locating the boy before the ... authorities do." he said, the pause brief but palpable.

"What can I do for you Agent Pierce?"
He'd offer the man a seat, but he won't be staying long.

He listened intently to it, then said "Yessir." and snapped the phone closed.
So much for his day off.

Possibly not the voice he was expecting to answer.
