When Crystal found Luna's note, she experienced a flurry of emotions. It was probably a good thing that Luna wasn't there to see it, because the elements that Crystal was so closely linked to responded. First, anger that Luna had run off, and that Lockjaw had disobeyed instructions not to teleport her anywhere. That anger was quickly replaced by

"Cousin?"

Gorgon looks at Crystal coming down the hall with concern, and his expression quickly becomes one of anger.

"Who dares anger my young cousin?"

Medusa hadn’t been the one to find the note, nor the discovery of her young son who was wailing at the top of his lungs. It had been Mixi, who had brought the boy back to his mother. In fact, Medusa had no idea what made Ahura cry. The boy was almost as silent as Blackagar. She couldn’t console the boy, however his father did and now Ahura was sniffling and cuddling against his father’s chest.

The Queen slipped out of the family’s chambers, intending to search Luna’s room in an attempt to find out what was going on. Mixi did not mention that Luna was gone. She nearly ran into her sister and cousin. “Crystal?” She asked softly.

Tears were running down Crystal's cheeks at this point and she clearly looked distraught. It took a minute to collect herself, wipe her tears, and uncrumple the note in her hand before she could make herself speak again.

"It's Luna. She left this on her desk and she's gone," said Crystal between sniffles. "I was just trying to make her understand that it wasn't acceptable to skip school or crawl around in the vents. I didn't think it would make her feel like nobody wanted her."

She clenched and unclenched her free hand, going over all the arguments she'd had over Luna's behaviour lately.

"She could be anywhere."

Medusa frowned slightly, not quite sure what to make of this. Discipline was mild in comparison to what supposed to happen to those crawling in the vents. If Luna was in the place, it would be easy to track her, so Medusa knew that was the case.$ “Did Lockjaw take her?” It was the only logical conclusion though it seemed incredible, the pecking order for the dog’s loyalty had been Blackagar, Crystal, and Luna. While a dog, the creature had an uncanny knack for knowing danger and knowing safe places.

Dewoz had been absent from the reflection pools for sometime but today he was there, gazing at the water.

He wished he was back in his bed but Tonaja wanted him outside. And Tonaja had ways of persuading him.

The head of the Royal Guard approaches him, stopping at a polite distance.

"Dewoz," he says firmly. "I would speak with you."

Tonaja had been approaching from the opposite direction, but immediately stood at attention at the sound of Gorgon's voice. Her eyes flickered back and forth between him and Woz.

Gorgon didn't look happy. Something was wrong, and that was never a good sign.

"Sir?" she asked tentatively.

Woz also stood. "What is wrong?" Because something had to be wrong if Gorgon wanted to talk to him about something, especially with that tone of voice.

"She is not anywhere!" he shouts to no one in particular. "How long has she been missing?! Can someone tell me THAT?!"
