Sue wondered if she was there first for the monthly (or whenever they could all get together) 'literature' discussion and exchange group. Okay, it was more of a romance novel reading fest than it was taking anything off of Oprah's reading list

The bottles in the large paper bag clanked as she shifted it to one arm. Maybe she had brought a little too much al...scratch that. There never was such a thing as too much alcohol. She even managed to pick up a variety of alcohol and not just vodka. Hell, she even picked up frou-frou wine coolers. Never knew with this crowd.

When the door was answered, there was Janet Pym. West siiiide (Avengers) represent.
She, of course, bobbed in her with her usual energy, her bag (which had her swimsuit and book) and a bag of baked goods.
"Sorry I'm late! I couldn't figure out what swimsuit to wear--so then I just decided to get a new one. Then I completely forgot to factor in the fact that I couldn't exactly park the Quinjet on your roof. I brought scones! There's this wonderful little bakery I know in San Fran."

Jan set up the scones on the table with the other baked goods, trying out one of the cookies. Mmm. She really needed to start asking Sue for her recipes.
