"So what is our official position on the whole thing?"

"I know this is a weighty issue for all of us, and I know there have been some tensions flaring about this, and I'm sorry for that."
His eyes meet every pair that meet his own as he speaks.
"But our official position has to be cooperation and agreement with this new law. The stakes are just too high."

Clearly offended at the implication. He's unaware that his own wife played the Nazi card in an earlier argument.
"By the post office, I just meant that the training facilities would probably be widespread and benign - perhaps a more apt analogy would be metahuman welfare - giving help to desperate people who need the practice and discipline to control the abilities they have. It's like the YMCA - we're not preaching abstinence."

And who is now living hand to mouth.
"Vision and I know the pain of losing children who are ... more than you think they are," she says quietly. "I understand the grief and not wanting to see others die. But I know that you cannot save children merely by fencing them about with laws. Even sheep may trample down a fence, and children are not sheep."

She raises her hand meekly. Someone has to say something about Iron Man's great and wonderful files, and she might as well be it. "I started doing what I'm doing now when I was 14. I have something to say about this idea of 'recruitment.'"

"The Tinkerer knew I was underage and liked the idea." There's a slight pause as she lets that sink in. "Taskmaster doesn't check IDs for his academy. I have to ask here: If we have this law, aren't we asking those kids in Iron Man's files just to head off to the Hellfire Club, the Circus of Crime, or Taskmaster, HYDRA or a dozen other places I can name if they have no other place to go?"
She's a living, breathing example of what happens when talent, ambition, and pain meet up with no place to go but down.
