CLAIMS ARE NOW CLOSED!!
Hey everyone! We have some great stories up for claims this year!
Now that the rough draft deadline has passed, we're putting the summaries up for artists to peruse. The claims don't actually open until Saturday, September 24th at about 12 noon Eastern Time, but we want the fanworkers to have a chance to think about their claims now.
Authors, if your story is missing, or something else is wrong contact us ASAP so we can fix it.
This post will be closed to comments until claims open on Saturday. We will post a notice that claims are opening (around 12 noon Eastern Time), at which point we will open up the comments and each artist can claim ONE story. We want to allow artists time to claim stories, however at 3:00 PM Eastern Time on September 24th we will open claims up for artists to claim more stories. Artists can claim up to 5 stories, although no story will be able to have more than one artist unless all stories have been claimed at least once.
When requesting your story, please list your top three choices in the order that you want them. Please give both the number and title of the fics you want (e.g., "1, Begin Again"). The claims will be on a first come, first served basis, and we will do our best to confirm your claim as soon as possible.
The post will be open for anonymous comments so that you can claim without joining Livejournal, but if you do, please be sure to list the username you signed up with in your claim.
Fanworkers, if you are not a member of the comm, please join by filling out
this form after you make your claim. If you have any questions, please contact us on our page-a-mod post or on Discord.
Claims will close on Saturday, October 1st. Match-ups will be emailed as soon as possible; it will be up to the author to provide the artist with a copy of their draft at that point. If an author notices that their story has been claimed and confirmed before that point, and wants to send their story to their fanworker before match-ups are sent out, that's fine :)
And now, the summaries!
1)
Title: the other side
Genre: Sci-fi, romance
Fandom/Universe: MCU, The falcon and the winter soldier
Characters/Pairings: Sam Wilson/Bucky Barnes
Warnings:(non con, mpreg, etc) canon-typical violence
Rating: Mature/Explicit
Summary:(no more than three paragraphs)
Or: The one in which Sam and Bucky encounter Winter Soldier versions of themselves in New York, and still manage to get in some sightseeing and talk about some other stuff.
2)
Title:Gentleness, Fondness and Compassion (may change)
Genre:drama, melodrama, romance (starts sad, ends up a romcom)
Fandom/Universe:MCU, canon divergence after captain america: civil war
Characters/Pairings:Bucky Barnes/Tony Stark
Warnings:enemies to lovers; pro-accords; set after cacw, so cacw issues, no Steve bashing, but complicated relationships; mental health issues: very slight suicidal ideation, a panic attack, identity issues; aromantic side character
Rating:Teen
Summary:
Months after the bunker, Tony’s alone, haunted by his choices, lost. Bucky, back in New York, is again in hiding, without a home, without purpose, without any sense of self.
They meet by accident. They keep meeting by choice (week after week, in the same cafe), unwilling to submit to roles forced upon them.
A/N: Most of the story is set in a cafe (except for the first meeting in the street + a couple of minor scenes + the last get together scene). All issues are canon-related, mental stuff isn’t super graphic (depressive thoughts, one short description of a panic attack). It’s not very angsty - the story is more about healing than trauma itself.
3)
Title: Year of the (Magical Healing) Cock
Genre: Modern AU, strangers to lovers
Fandom/Universe: Captain America/MCU
Characters/Pairings: Bucky Barnes/Steve Rogers, Bucky Barnes & Clint Barton
Warnings: no warnings apply
Rating: explicit
Summary: Caught between New Years and frustration with his life, Bucky makes a vow to change things by the end of the month. At the urging of his best friend Clint, he decides to stop trying so hard to find a romantic partner and see how things go when he relaxes. Broadening his dating pool to include men for the first time since that one fling in college means his love life suddenly becomes a lot more interesting. Little does he know that a Tinder profile, a Brooklyn artist named Steve, and a Chinese restaurant will make his New Year’s resolution come true. What ensues is a month-long one-night stand that leaves Bucky shaken to his core, desperately in love, and longing for more.
4)
Title: Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow
Genre: Crossover/Fusion; Adventure; Sci-Fi; Canon Divergent
Fandom/Universe: MCU; Tomorrow People (70's)
Characters/Pairings: Phil Coulson/Clint Barton; Phil Coulson, Clint Barton, Nick Fury, Maria Hill, Avengers Team, various members of the Tomorrow People.
Warnings: Mind Control, Language
Rating: PG-13
Summary: Clint Barton is compromised by Loki, and Nick Fury has to inform his husband. Because Phil Coulson would definitely find out. Damn Barton for ever marrying a Tomorrow Person, because Nick hated having to deal with that shit.
This is a crossover/fusion with the 70's British television show, the Tomorrow People, although I have it on good authority that no knowledge of the show is needed to understand the story. I also have plucked people from various other shows to fill out other characters, and I can provide a list of those characters and actors if needed for reference. In this story, Phil never became a member of SHIELD and is, in fact, a member of the next stage of human evolution, although Clint meets him anyway. It retells the events of "The Avengers" with those changes.
5)
Title: You'll Never Be Useless, Honey
Genre: Action, Fantasy, Romance, Fanfiction
Fandom/Universe: Marvel Cinematic Universe
Characters/Pairings: Steve Rogers/Tony Stark
Warnings: (non con, mpreg, etc) BDSM, Strong Language, Panic Attacks, Torture
Rating: Teen and Up Audiences
Summary: Tony Stark didn't think he could ever be much happier with anyone other than the amazing Dominant who was Steve Rogers. Their relationship and agreement had strengthened so much in just under six months, that they have become a real and true couple reaping more than just the benefits in the bedroom. However, every relationship must face its trials and tribulations...
When Tony takes the blame of a failed mission onto himself, his guilt in disappointing Steve leads him to make a deal with Doctor Strange. When that takes a turn for the worst, the team is left to cope with a spelled and de-aged, now toddler, Tony Stark. With Tony going back to his youth to face his insecurities head on, and an unexpected vengeful attack from Baron Zemo himself shocking the Avengers, Steve Rogers and Tony Stark face the next chapter in their new romance.
This fanfiction is written in a universe where BDSM is known and practiced in relationships, however, there is no on-screen scene between any couple. There are brief mentions of on-screen torture to Tony Stark- only two paragraphs worth in the entirety of the seven chapters, but nothing too explicit or detailed. ("The whump is light"). There are mentions of panic attacks, so please heed that trigger warning and the fic is written with strong language. It takes place in the Avengers compound and briefly in Sokovia in Act 3 of the fanfiction.
6)
Title: The Hope Which Has No Opposite (in fear)
Genre: Romance, Action
Fandom/Universe: Marvel 1872 (Timely)
Characters/Pairings: Steve Rogers/Tony Stark
Warnings:(non con, mpreg, etc) Canonical character death, non-graphic gun violence
Rating: Mature (bordering on explicit)
Summary: This tale of Timely is a fix-it for the comics. Everything in Timely changes when Sheriff Steve Rogers comes to town. He brings something that the town has little of - hope. Tony Stark, town blacksmith and drunk, has little hope left when Steve arrives. As Steve tries to give courage to the people around him, Tony Stark starts to feel something for the handsome young man.
When a corrupt governor threatens Timely and those around it in order to mine silver and gold, the sheriff decides he's had enough. Tony and Steve fall in love in the shadow of a coming war for the soul of Timely. The townspeople join them in the fight.
Will love and justice win? Only Time will tell.
7)
Title: Into the Deep End
Genre: AU; fix-it; future-fic (i'm bad at these)
Fandom/Universe: MCU
Characters/Pairings: Peter Parker, Bruce Banner, Tony Stark, Aunt May, Bucky Barnes; Peter Parker/Tony Stark
Warnings: mention of previous canon character (Tony) death
Rating: Mature/R
Summary: Roughly 7 years after Endgame, Peter works for Stark Industries (MCU is canon through Endgame and FFH). One day, at work, while taking a walk, he stumbled onto a secret lab - cool, right? Only, he can't find it again. So he spends time re-locating it. Once he does, it unlocks for him and lets him in. There is a wall of computer screens clearly monitoring something. While Peter is trying to figure all of this out, and is about to go into the adjacent room of the lab, Bruce Banner shows up and says he shouldn't do that.
Peter has so many questions - none of which are being answered. Instead, he's told that once he figures out on his own what's going on, then he's allowed to know. This means, Peter starts digging into the files he's allowed to access to get the answer. Except, he cheats a little. Reading a bunch of files is taking too long and Bruce is gone from the lab one day, so Peter takes the opportunity to see if he can get into that adjacent room. He can and he finds out that in the big tank in the room is Tony Stark. Now Peter is in charge of figuring out what comes next. Do they keep going with the project with the ultimate goal of reviving Tony or do they disconnect everything and let him go? Peter can't let Tony go, so the move forward. And Tony does wake up. He's a little wobbly like a new colt, but his mind is sharp and he's impatient and wants to get going again already.
The remainder of the story is Peter helping Tony reintegrate into life 8 years post-Endgame. I haven't quite nailed down the exact ending, but it may end with Tony doing a sort of press conference to announce his not-being-dead anymore-ness.
8)
Title: (We’re Not) Happy Peppy People
Genre: Transformation, casefic, crack taken seriously, friends to lovers
Fandom/Universe: NMCU, Jessica Jones, Daredevil
Characters/Pairings: Jessica Jones/Matt Murdock
Warnings: Violence, but most of it is sort of cartoonish with the involvement of magic and Jessica being a puppet. Nobody dies (a rat does though). Pretty frequent swearing. Sex jokes/references, though no actual sex. References/stories to Dorothy’s (Jessica’s adoptive mother) canon typical child abuse, not very graphic. Kilgrave is alluded to once or twice, but not really discussed in any detail. The core magical element is based off the myth of lyngurium, a stone made from lynx urine. This information is not featured until the finale, and the stench is particularly present. A side effect of Jessica being turned into a puppet is a minor difficulty regulating her emotions (her emotions are a little more intense and her expression of them a bit more cartoonish and externalized than is typical for her character). This isn’t something that’s taken advantage of, all her emotions are genuine, and she’s capable of making decisions for herself. (She discovers the change by accidentally throwing Matt against the wall-he’s unharmed-and then immediately compensates for it.)
Rating: Teen+
Summary: One of Jessica’s cases has a…well let’s just call it a transformative effect on her. Luckily, Matt’s more than willing to give her a hand-pun not intended. OR…Jessica gets turned into a puppet and teams up with Matt to find the culprit and change her back.
Artist notes: Jessica gets turned into a muppet-like puppet. She is about 1 meter tall (between 3’ and 3.5’). There’s a description of her new appearance in the fic, and I can send references of a few stills I found online for certain aspects/vibes to her if you’d like. But basically, I’m picturing bitter, underslept adult Coraline meets the Muppetverse. (Creative liberty is fine, too). There will also be a scene later (in the finale scene I haven’t written out just yet) with a Matt-the-transformed-polar-bear but still in his Black Mask get up. Less important additions: a real lynx and an animated, anthropomorphic chess piece army (also in the finale). I’ll be free to answer any questions.
9)
Title: Seventy-Ish Percent [working]
Genre: Figure skating AU, romance, character study
Fandom/Universe: Marvel 616 (in AU setting) with a sparse few MCU characters for spice
Characters/Pairings: Steve Rogers/Tony Stark (primary); background relationships include Clint Barton/Bobbi Morse, Luke Cage/Jessica Jones, Carol Danvers/Monica Rambeau, Howard Stark/Maria Stark
Warnings: Howard Stark’s A+ Parenting (depictions of emotional, mental, verbal, and physical abuse)
Rating: Explicit
Summary: Despite the overbearing expectations of his father, working and creating tech as well as weapons for Stark Industries in between school and societal functions as is expected of him, Tony is also a world-class men’s figure skater. He’s dedicated to breaking world records, getting his gold medals (particularly the Olympic ones), and training his body with expert precision so he can be the first human being alive to land a quintuple jump, or at least the quad Axel.
Steve Rogers, a pairs’ skater with Peggy Carter, is a monumental pain in his ass though, and Tony absolutely hates him from almost the first moment he meets him, until slowly that starts to change and he becomes the cornerstone of Tony’s heart instead.
The fic does deal with Howard’s A+ parenting. The vast majority of it is him being an overbearing, overcontrolling, colossal you-know-what, generally off-screen but sometimes not, so it’s mostly mental and emotional abuse and how that affects Tony's mental health and self-worth (as is canon), but there are two scenes in the fic that are physical and do go into detail for the sake of plot. There is, however, no alcohol abuse in this story at all on Tony’s part, which is very much not canon.
10)
Title: The Day Before the Soldier Came
Genre: Adventure, friendship, angst
Fandom/Universe: X-Men (Original Timeline Movies)
Characters/Pairings: Logan/Scott; Logan & Scott (Pre-slash)
Warnings: No archive warnings, but mentions of previous abuse (physical and sexual), panic attacks and PTSD
Rating: T
Summary: After X1, when Logan takes off North to discover more about his past, Charles insists he takes a phone with him. Logan and Scott start exchanging messages. When Logan unexpectedly vanishes, Scott talks Xavier into letting him go to find him. A feral Logan tracks down Scott, and Scott helps him revert back to his usual self. Logan discovers that Scott is worried about Jean as her powers are going and becoming much more dangerous. Even though the two of them argue and Scott leaves in anger, Logan decides to return to the mansion rather than going back off on his own.
There are no standard archive warnings for this fic, but there are mentions of previous abuse (sexual and physical) and Scott has a panic attack because of PTSD. The story is told mostly from Logan’s point of view, with some sections with Scott. Visually, Logan drives Scott’s bike through the colder parts of North America, and stays in lots of hotel rooms. There is a struggle between the two men and Scott needs to calm a feral Logan down.
11)
Title: So Easy (this is a working title)
Genre: Angst, romance, M/M
Fandom/Universe: X-Men (Original Timeline Movies)
Characters/Pairings: Logan/Scott
Warnings: No archive warnings, mention of of previous abuse (sexual and physical)
Rating: M (might rise to E)
Summary: Logan wakes from the events in Days of Future Past to find Scott Summers naked in his shower, and discovers they are in a clandestine relationship. When Scott realises that this is a “different” Logan from the one he is in love with, he pulls away and tries to pretend nothing ever happened. Logan tries to adjust to this new world, and becomes increasingly distracted by Scott, so much so that Xavier steps in to tell Logan to back off. But rather than helping, the tension between them grows until they are forced to confront what they want from each other and what happened between them in the past.
There are no standards warning for this fic, but there are mentions of Scott’s previous abuse (sexual and physical) and there is full frontal male nudity.
The action is all within the School, and the majority of it is told from Logan’s point of view, except at the end.
12)
Title: wolves & girls
Genre:spy drama, action/adventure
Fandom/Universe: Marvel comics 616, MCU
Characters/Pairings: Elektra Natchios/Natasha Romanoff, Tony Stark, Nick Fury, Maria Hill, Yelena Belova, Kate Bishop, James "Bucky" Barnes, Clint Barton, Orestes Natchios, Frank Castle
Warnings: canon-typical violence, body hijacking
Rating: E (Explicit)
Summary: An alert sends Natasha running to Hell's Kitchen, where she tries to stop a mercenary targeting Matt Murdock only for Elektra Natchios to swoop in and beat her to it. What looked like a simple assassination attempt leads to a much deeper conspiracy, and at its center are two-dozen comatose girls, abandoned in a London warehouse with a mysterious medical implant in their heads that won't let them wake up. Natasha's investigation takes her across the ocean and underneath a mountain--and to Elektra, time and time again. If Natasha's not careful, she might forget why trusting her is a bad idea.
