Here in Lewis County, you can at least go into the old courthouse to deposit your ballot. And they have a roll of the 'I Voted' stickers. I never trust my vote to the USPS.

In recent years, there's been enough hinkeyness with voting booths that maybe Washington State was ahead of the curve in doing away with them. Still, it is sad to see the traditions die out. Could it be, my dear ex, that we are actually getting old?

Same story with King County. I think you can go deliver ballots to a "polling place" on election day. Unfortunately, living out of country, I don't have a lot of choice in that matter, so I tend to e-mail my ballot (as an overseas voter that's a nice option), and then I get a confirmation e-mail that they have received it.

I don't trust mail-in voting, though. Too easy to tamper with. Too easy for someone to steal someone else's ballots and vote for them, &c.
