She tells him this once- too late, a breath, a second, a lifetime too late- and Josh smiles with that particular twist of his.
“Sure.” And this is why they never worked- timing.)
LOVE THAT.
I love all of these but the Amy drabble most of all. You've completely gotten who she is and I just love it. Also, you used a lyric from my favorite ever Yeah Yeah Yeahs song. :)
You are the most wonderful person ever. I literally don't know how to thank you. You are brilliant and far too kind to me and if anything, you are far too wise for me. ♥
Alex makes up her own rules when she can’t win the game; Justin plays by the rules no matter who came up with them. Exquisite. And very accurate, although I always need you to point these things out to me.
You wrote me Sirius and James. I think I am most touched by this, just because it feels like the pairing that's "least you" of all of them.
(Economics in this case and she voted for the man twice but she’ll never understand the President’s choice of field- not ever.) This is you. I love it.
No, it’s that her life is her job and there’s a particular distinction there that most can’t grasp. That stops this from being melancholy and tips it over into hopeful. You so nailed it so (beyond) perfectly.
You are so wonderful. I'm very touched that you would do this for me. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. ♥
I really like Sirius and James, I'm just not accustomed to them yet. I haven't quite figured out which way the relationship is skewed. I know they're both aware of this thing between them, but one of them is more accepting of it and I don't which it is yet. I shall have to think about it.
I thought you'd appreciate that line. And it fit with my mental image of Amy so it was a win.
Thank you.
I'm thrilled you enjoyed it. This is not actually the gift. I'm still working on the gift, but it might not be done for weeks yet so I thought I do something to mark the actual birthday occasion.
Speaking of which, did you have a good day? Better yet, did you have good cake?
Great. You think about it and write it down when you figure it out. I can only see this as a win situation for me.
And it fit with my mental image of Amy Oh, with mine too, don't worry. I was just so amused to see you tell S that you decided Amy was your girl, because to me, she's always been that.
This is gift enough for me. More than enough for me. But I don't mind if there's more, naturally. I'll be a very good girl now, I promise.
Yes! I had a good day. But I didn't have any cake yesterday. I might have a tompouce tonight or tomorrow, or chocolate cake or whatever we end up making tomorrow. It's okay, I had Ben & Jerry's ice cream last night and my mother is making panna cotta (I love Wikipedia!) for tonight's dinner, so I'm good. I have a lot of sparkling wine as well and I had sushi last night and scampi's tonight so I'm really fine without real birthday cake.
And then you leave comments which instigate long, windy, fascinating conversations that keep me amused while I ignore school work. It's a win all the way around.
That was suspiciously like gloating. But as you're probably right I'll allow it.
I think I prefer you bad. ; )
Jealous of the panna cotta. And the tompouce and then Ben & Jerry's. However it is Purim so my mother is making oznei Haman which are delicious so it's alright. (Did you notice how I managed to mention my Jewishness and use Wikipedia there? I'm rather proud of it.) But I'm glad you're having a good time.

Confession time. Wrote the drabble while listening to your Josh/Amy mix. Hence the awesome title from the awesome song.
