sorry to bother you in your own journal, but the thread was deleted - you said you recently found out the origins of cracker... what is it?

Cracker referrs not to the food item, but rather the action of cracking the whip. Specifically a slaver's/plantation forman's whip.

So yeah, no more jokingly calling myself a cracker. That's just not something I want to be putting out there. Sure, most people don't know what the roots are, but that doesn't make it an OK thing to say.
