I'm loving the depth you've given both these characters and this verse. All the details about Drift and the Knights was very helpful to see how everything fits together. It explains why Drift and Mirage seem to get along so well. They have both learned a respect for life that seems to be missing from many nobles.

You had me laughing at the last few lines which is a great way to end this chapter. It puts me in a good mood which will help me be patient for the next update. :)

Thank you. I was afraid i was getting a little too rambly with this, but I felt it needed to be explained to put Drift's and Mirage's personalities under the correct light.

Specially since this plays a role in Mirage's future relationship with Hound.

It's actually lovely to have Drift's background for this story, and a reason why Skyfire acquired Hound. I'm looking forward to the next chapter when I hope Mirage meets Hound for the first time!

Ah, yes, Drift's story became sort of necessary since the relationship I'm introducing here has to be sort of explained (why if Drift was Mirage's best friend he wasn't there when Mirage needed him most?) to bring it full force when Drift actually shows up in 'present time events' in IC.
