This is a really great start, but I wish we could have heard Sam and Castiel's conversation. I was startled when they prepared to talk - and then it was over. What did they say? What did they talk about? The back-and-forth between an angel and "the boy with the demon blood" would be fascinating stuff.

Maybe your muses will revisit this, one day. ;-)

I wrote this for a ficlet challenge and actually went over by a good 300 words. I think I might write more of this, once I'm through finals. Like you say, the conversation of an angel and "the boy with demon blood" is rife with story potential. :)

This is marvelous. Castiel's talking-by-not-talking is an artful subtlety to catch in writing(and a constant reminder of how good an actor Misha is that he can convey that subtlety). By the snips you've offered (and remembering the handshake in ITGPSW) I begin to suspect it's not just Dean this guardian-who-is-not-really-a-guardian cares for.

First of all, sorry for taking so long to respond. My inbox is ridiculous. D:

Misha is such a subtle performer, isn't he? He's able to do so much with what should be a fairly wooden character.

Castiel's never seemed to hate Sam, the way Uriel did. I'm hoping that they continue his journey towards a, uh, full emotional life next season. I think that Sam and Castiel could have some very interesting conversations, especially post finale.
