Somehow I overlooked this on my f-list...
anyway, great fic!
First of all, I love that you used a latin sentence, and I could translate it^^

Tony's breath caught and his chest burned -
what once signaled low batteries was now purely psychosomatic, a
reaction to the costume and the body. Both were eerily accurate
facsimiles.

wow, that was awesome!

great fic!

Thank you!

You know some latin? You're going down in my big mental list of fannish resources. *g*

Well, I had to suffer through Latin from grade 7 to 11...
my teacher for the first two years was a supervillain. No seriously, she made students cry during lessons.
The next teacher was great and one of the best teachers ever, the next one was nice and the fourth one came back to school after 3 years in a mental institution to which she immediately went back after.

yeah...
So, some Latin got stuck in my head.
If you have a question, just ask^^

But if you want a high-quality fannish resource, just go to fan_babelfish and ask demon_faith

That name sounds so familiar. I wonder if she used to be on my flist... Thanks for the link though, I've been out of touch with the fic side of fandom for a few years, so a lot of comms kind of passed me by.

I love how there's always one Snape in every school. This is what comes from the attitude that teaching is a fallback career. *g*

I really enjoyed reading this (even though I'll have to re-read it so I can pay more attention to some of those really great descriptions)!
The idea of Tony not being able to interfere anymore is very interesting and I liked your reference to Fury.
*resists the urge to go through it again to pint out all the good stuff* It nearly broke my heart that there are Cap impostors. I haven't read a single Captain America issue since Steve died simply because I can't stand anyone but him wearing the uniform (I actually flinched when Clint tried it on), so it's nice to see Tony being this sensitive about it.

Thank you!

Did you read DoS? The Knaufs dealt with Tony's need to still have his fingers in every pie, despite the fact that it was inadvisable - I think seeing how he reacts to not being Mr Hands-On anymore, is fun to play with.

I actually have less of a problem with Bucky Cap than with Clint trying on the uniform - I really can't wrap my head around Clint as a new Cap, but with Bucky, I can at least see the reasoning for his taking up the mantle in the interim. At least, it's something I can fanwank. It also helps that I love Bru, and I continue to get a lot out of his work.

One of my favourite things about the Death of Cap story, is how ordinary folk are split on his legacy.

It nearly broke my heart that there are Cap impostors

*nod* And yet it's so something I could see people doing irl, you know?

Thanks again for your comments. :)

I'm following the Knaufs stories, but as much as I love them for bringing up Tony seeing dead people and stuff, the brilliance always gets lost in everything that's going on around Tony. So, I actually liked your try better than theirs. :p

I just recently read Red, White & Blue, where they show a schoolclass' reaction to Cap's death. I immensely enjoyed that in comparison to the other stories I read.

Sadly, people would totally do that. And I can really understand Tony's need to bash those guys' heads in. And at the same time how he just wanted it to stop... it was great how you included that as well, not just the anger.

Heh. I didn't get to read any fanfic over the last two/three weeks so I'm using my weekend to go through the latest fic and comment on what I liked (authors need food! XD)
