In this case, strictly speaking, I'll be tonsured into the clergy (a symbolic cutting of four bits of hair, making the sign of the Cross on my head), then subsequently made (there's no good English verb for it) a reader, which is the lowest rank of clergy. There's a reading test, too -- the bishop will give me a random epistle passage to read, to prove that I'm literate.
I really hope it's in English; while I can sound out Slavonic, it would be slow and painful. The two books look very different, though, so I doubt they'll get mixed up.
