Cupcake Bike Race!

Those of you in San Francisco should check out (or enter!) the Tour De Cupcake, a bike race on 10/19 that involves stops at various cupcake checkpoints. If any of you go, send me some pictures and let me know which bakeries were used as checkpoints.

Hi! I'm Kurt's friend, Carol. I did the Tour de Cupcake last weekend! It was so much fun :) Many of the cupcakes were homemade or store bought, but there were a few sponsored ones: Sugar Beat Sweets (reeeally good vegan cupcakes, so moist and tasty) and Teeny Cake. Citizen Cake had a checkpoint but they were unmanned (no cupcakes :(). I had six cupcakes and spent the rest of the night waddling around with a nauseated look on my face.

Today I tried some mini cupcakes from Sibby's Cupcakery, from San Mateo, and I was very impressed - the frosting was super fresh!

Love at First Bite in Berkeley is my go-to cupcake place, since I live in Berkeley. In case you're ever in town on a cupcake adventure :)

Thanks for all of the tips! I'll be in town from Nov 7-17th and am definitely planning on checking out Citizen Cupcake, Miette, Kara's Cupcakes, Bittersweet, Sprinkles, Sugar Butter Flour, and Love at first Bite if I can get over to Berkeley. Sugar Beat Sweets, Teeny Cake, and Sibby's Cupcakery are all "virtual cupcakeries" (special order only), so I probably won't get to try those =(

Awesome :) If you would like a cupcake buddy, maybe I can come over the bay and go on a cupcake devouring adventure with you. I've heard that Kara's Cupcakes are really good, so I definitely want to go at some point.

Awesome! I'm actually busy on the weekends, but entirely free during the week and will hopefully embark on several cupcake adventures. Is your schedule open on weekdays?
