Jobs and Books.

I feel that somewhat of a Journal post is in order, despite the lack of interesting things happening at this point in my rather dull life.
Been having rather lazy days inside the house, half of the time spent 'surfing the web' watching this or that. I am quite pleased and also rather excited that on Friday I am going to see a lady who has offered me ( Read more... )

You have pretty damn good taste in books! My own reading habits have slowed down a bit since the exams - damnit. But I hope to get back to my feverishly exciting bookworm self soon.

Good luck with your job offer! I'm sending vibes of elocution and the confidence in foriegn language speakig I myself do not possess!

I too am having my exams, but it seems that the more I am stressed by scholarly things, the more I read. I guess its one of the things that relaxes and slows me down.

O Thank You, I do indeed need those vibes.

Ps. LOVE LOVE LOVE the icon. Amelie has to be one of my favourite movies ever done.

Doing stuff other than revision at exam time makes me feel guilty. I feel guilty right now for just sitting on my arse browsing LJ. Stupid guilt.

Amelie is amazing. It's currently in a 3 way tie for best movie ever with Quills and Amadeus.

I know perfectly well how you feel, despite the fact that I have rarely studied for any exam and guilt only comes into affect few minutes before the exam.

I loved rereading some of those book bits, specially Oscar's, reading is such a wonderful, joyous, orgasmic thing, and it's so powerful, the more you read, the more you desire and dare I say, need xD I want that Kindle 2 thingummy so much, to store all the books I wish to carry around and for when the real, physical thing isn't available or not in a proper translation or the original English.

That is a perfect way to describe the plentiful joys of reading.
Unfortunately, or fortunately I am like an old lady as to electronic devices, I have indeed studied Computer Studies when at school, but since then I tried to stay away from whatever the scientific world has to offer, and I am quite sure that I wouldn't tell the difference between an iPhone and a Kindle...All Right maybe I'm exaggerating a bit there.

*chuckles* that is far more common than you think! Even younger people than us, who spend life affixed to machines (I shouldn't really talk, I overuse poor Oscar/My new imac, love you, darling) still don't use technology for many logical things, one of them is reading, people who like to read are also a bit suspicious of it ( ... )

Thanks.

I really cannot say that I 'loved' it. It was very different from the books I normally read, still, it was a rather enjoyable read.
