I think this is a great article about the kinds of relationships we make.

Also, the beginning of "Gloria" sounds a lot like the beginning of Dr. Demento's "Star Trekkin'" to me.

I have a "people I know in real life" and a "people I don't know in real life" filter for posting, and after this past May, I don't know where to put people anymore. <3 I love that.

I can't even tell them apart anymore. I have probably met more of my friends online than offline.

A lot of my dearest friends are people I met through an email list (or through people I met on that list). We have since met in person, and spent many happy hours in each other's company, but the vagaries of geography mean that our relationships are, again, mostly played out online.

yeah, this is a really really interesting article. I'm so glad that I've met most of the lj-people I'm really close to (though sad about the people on the other side of the pond I haven't met yet, and the people that just couldn't come to AF for whatever reason) if only just to give them huuugs <3 ( ... )
