Days just fly by. At least this time I started to think about posting before 11:15 p.m. This NaBloPoMo thing might be good for me after all. This might be a very good time for a Public Service Announcement. Please do spread this information, link around, whatever you want to do - the account you save could be your friend's.

The first-validated email thing really needs to be made a lot more clear to newbs, because I know so many people who have registered their accounts to an email address they lost when they got out of high school or college. One of the first Lightning War communities was registered to someone's college email address, *facepalms*.

There should be a splash page or something during initial account creation.

Yeah, I totally understand. We're looking to find ways that will make that less likely to happen, and still keep a way to identify who the owner of an account is, in case there's a break-in.

We've changed this now. Instead of first-validated, the un-removable email is the latest one to be validated and in use for at least six months. You can go here to try it out.

Hey, thank you for this post! Am going to Memory it.

I have a question. I also used a Hotmail account to sign up with LJ; luckily I still have control over it. I changed it back to that one and removed other emails after the oldest one (which was just a repeat of the oldest one [must've changed it again at some point], and the new Gmail one). Now, I changed back to Gmail and went back to that page... but I still see the old Hotmail account, 3 times now 'cause I had just changed to it. And I still can't seem to remove that Hotmail account. How do I fix this??

Now it can! If you go here, you can now remove all but the most recent email (once it's validated and in use for over six months, that one switches to the un-removable one).

Wow, I love that you remembered my comment and got back to me! Thank you very much. I have a few more months till I can delete it off completely (I changed back a couple of months ago to try deleting it hahaha), so I'll remember this :)

Hey, I was curious about this for quite some time, and I was wondering if you could help me.

Is there a way to remove your comments from a certain journal or community as a mass-action? Obviously you can do it manually by finding each comment and delete, but is there an option to do it simultaneously (or a client that allows me to do it)?
