Yeah, so, remember that time I was going just "come in late," because I was going to go pick up an iPhone 4 before work? Yeah, around hour four, I gave up on ever actually making it into the office. Seven hours in line for that little fucker. NEVER AGAIN ( Read more... )

Your iPhone story is funnier here than it was when we talked yesterday.

What VM episodes were you watching on the old phone?

Hehe, well, I was probably more exhausted in the telling of it yesterday. ;)

And I just watched "The Debasement Tapes".. It was the only one I had on there. (I did finally break down and order season 3 though, so that should be getting to my house today in preparation for a grand rewatch when I finish up with Bones.)

Oh, that episode. You're going to rewatch the whole series or just season three?

Whole series, baby! :D I just didn't want to get to the end of season 2 and have nowhere less to go. ;)

(This also means I can finally see that bit they were proposing for s4!)

You should totally get The Hunger Games!!! It was so good.

I kind of wanted the white one too, but with no release date for it yet, I just didn't want to wait. I'll be excited to hear what you think of it when you get yours!

I can't imagine standing in line that long for anything, but at least you had a pleasant experience! In fact, it almost sounds like fun. It's good there were snacks and camaraderie amongst the people in line. It would have been awful if everyone had been miserable and pushy.

While I think they got a lot of things in Half-Blood Prince right (Slughorn, the teen stuff, some of the flashbacks, although I love the flashbacks and would have adored seeing more). But Spinner's End was diluted because I didn't like the casting for Narcissa (whither Naomi Watts? Or Nicole Kidman? Or Gwynnie, though she isn't a Brit) and the ending was... crap. James watches the movies with me and he hasn't read the books, and he said the ending made no sense to someone who hasn't read the books. The Half-Blood Prince thing meant nothing. There was no battle. Blerg, I hope Deathly Hallows is more satisfactory.

LMAO THE DUDE. AWESOME.

I think Peter is a great choice! I actually can relate to him a lot too ("I need to find some fucking friends.").

Hehe well, I did it, and I still can't imagine it. NEVER AGAIN. I think if someone had said "wait time approximately 7 hours" or whatever, I never would have done it, but after a certain amount of time invested in it, there was kind of no turning back.

And yeah, the battle was the scene in question that I desperately, desperately wanted to see on screen. And it was such a HUGE part of the book, I never dreamed they would omit it. I still don't understand why. (AND OMG. Gwynnie would have been perfect... she can do Brit very well too. XD)

I Love You, Man was so awkward and sweet about the friends thing too. Because it is hard to really make friends as an adult. It seems like as I get older, I still meet people that I do stuff with, and such, but it's not the sort of relationship where they'd be my Maid of Honor or anything. And I loved that they tackled that in a way that was in such good humor... hilarious, but nice about it.

Who doesn't love the Dude? I mean...he's THE DUDE! Srsly.

I love that you read a whole book for 7 hours in line. This is why I love my Kindle. I know that if I *can* get stuck somewhere for hours, I *will* get stuck somewhere for hours. Now I can stop carrying two books with me everywhere (because I used to ALWAYS carry two books). It is especially brilliant with the iPhone app.

I'm happy with my lil 3GS and not knowing any better, but I do love it so much more than I ever dreamed I would. lol.

Hehe, sadly, it did not take the whole seven hours. I held out as long as I could before starting it, and took breaks, and STILL finished far too early. It made me wish desperately for a Kindle. (But the masses actively using their iPhones in the immediate vicinity kind of rendered my idea of getting the Kindle app moot. :p) I wished I'd thought to bring a second book!!

I think if I'd had to pay full price (I was eligible for the upgrade price, since I was still rocking my old 3G from a couple of years back), I would have just waited, but this was a BIG step up for me, for a pretty reasonable cost, considering how much I use it. Definitely worth looking into when you're eligible on yours. ;)

I'm kind of ashamed that I still haven't seen Inglourious Basterds. I will have to move it up on my queue.

Oh my gosh that's so long to wait in line but the iPhone 4 looks amazing!

You should! I really think you'd enjoy it.

And yes, definitely too long to wait in line. ;) I got my toy, and am happy, but next time, I will just be having it delivered.
