After hanging up from the very unexpected phone call that she had received (and if she were the religious type, she might have considered it an Easter miracle), Veronica buried her face in her hands, forgetting completely about all the cooking she and Piper had to finish before heading over to her father's

Piper wasn't sure who was on the phone. All she knew was that her friend seemed distressed when she hung up the phone.

"Veronica?" she said gently. "Everything okay?"

"I have no idea," Veronica admitted, looking up with tear-stained cheeks.

Piper figured Veronica's current state was the result of the phone call. "Who was on the phone?"

Veronica swallowed hard. "It was Cameron," she whispered.

Bel shimmered into the apartment in search of baked goodies, because Piper must've made some for the holiday. He heard Veronica and Piper talking and almost made his presence known, then stopped and thought better of it when he heard the emotion in Veronica's voice. Hormones, he thought. Probably the baby. He'd be wise to keep his distance. So he snatched a few cookies and fled.
