Remember me?

Hi, yeah. Not dead. The saga of the Dreaded Acid Reflux took an interesting turn... It was discovered I had gallstones, and gallbladder problems often cause an excess of stomach acid. So I was scheduled for laproscopic gallbladder removal. This is a very easy surgery, and I thank God they've invented it. That said, recovery still sucks, as I am ( Read more... )

URK! @__@ Glad you're... well, not feeling better, per se, but on the way there. Gall bladders are no fun, from what I understand from the majority of my family (and probably myself in the future, all things considered.) Get better, okay?

...and yeah; I've heard that about the animated series. "Sucks through a straw" was the most polite response I've run across so far. Gaaaaahhh.

Thanks. :) I am feeling better, slowly, so that's good. And yes, gall bladders seem to fail spectacularly. My mom had this exact surgery eight years ago or so.

On the bright side, Mom really liked Iron Man, and she's not much for comic book movies.

Welcome to the ranks of the gallbladder-less! Mine became a bad tenant in mid-January of this year, was admitted to the hospital the day after the presidential inauguration through the emergency room, had the surgery that Friday. Counting the being sick starting two days before the inauguration and recovery time, I was out of work for 3 1/2 weeks. I still say the good part about throwing out your gall bladder is that you've only got one to throw - can't throw it again once it's gone! :)

And you get to play connect the dots on your tummy. ;)

*snicker* My job involves sitting in a chair all day, so I'm already back at work. Also, my gall bladder had developed stones, but was still WORKING, so it wasn't nearly as unpleasant an illness, nor was it emergency surgery. Now, if only it'll cause the levels of stomach acid to go down and stay down...
