Made it to Dallas... 31+ hours of pure hell.

I have friends, Laura and Jennifer, stranded on Hwy 59 with no gas and 8 pets. Please send them good thoughts and keep them in your prayers or meditations or whatever you like.

Good. Good. I'll light candles for the friends and pets, along with Everyone Else. While you're here, we should visit. That might make the exile a little more interesting.

Glad you're ok. I wasn't sure if you'd head for Dallas or Austin.

I'm in Austin myself since I already had plans to be here for the ACL festival this weekend. Drove 4 hours to NW Houston on Wednesday night and 18 hours the rest of the way to Austin yesterday. Got very lucky with gas and my dad's help finding it.

I'll keep Laura, Jennifer and the pets in my thoughts and hope for the best for everyone out there. I heard the city sent buses out to the highways to take those who were stranded to shelters? Hope they got gas or got a ride.

I found out last night they made it to their original destination, completely intact... stressed and exhausted, but okay nonetheless :)
I thought 31 hours was bad... their trip was 67 hours!!!
