[Axel's at Asher's door a few minutes later, giving it a solid kick. for something so rotted it sure doesn't want to budge. he yells through the metal] Hey! The exit is over here! I think you need to open it from that side!

[he certainly can't see with the blood in his eyes, but he can hear Axel's voice. he scrambles away from Belle, trying not to step on the bodies, to avoid them the best he can. unfortunately, he's so desperate to get away, he trips and lands on top of Nathaniel's dead body. a high horrified scream fills the air, especially as his lavender eyes open, staring at Asher. those full now-blue lips move, whispering: "Why didn't you save us? I've been waiting for you--"

the blond starts to cry all the harder, though no one can tell under the blood running down his face. he mumbles an apology, is still repeating "I'm sorry" over and over as he hits the door, fumbling to open it.

when it does open, Asher falls gracelessly on his face at Axel's feet, a pool of blood rapidly forming under him]

I'm sorry.... so sorry...
