There's something so distinct about a hospital... the way the hand soap makes your hands smell, the way the ICU smells, the way the hallways smell. It's all so different yet it ties it into one place. I began my 'work' at UCLA again, and it's amazing. I get to wear a lab coat in my own size, that says "UCLA Neurosurgery" in green writing. Fun fun. I will also have 'work' at a hospital this summer, only on the other side of the country (Boston). How'd you come across this opportunity at UCLA?

Have fun at Australia!! Try Vegemite! It's love or hate for most people, but it's extremely Aussie, so, if you fancy trying things unique to the places you visit, I'd say that'd be fitting.

my piano teacher's husband is a neurologist at UCLA. somewhat random, but it works.

Vegemite? My parents tried that and hated it. I heard some story from friends of my parents that some guys wanted to bring that over to America, but the US businessman who would be involved (who was a friend of the friends of my parents, or something) tried some and decided there was no way it could possibly be successful in the states. Not a very credible story, I guess, but entertaining nonetheless.
