Avatar Finale

Jul 20, 2008 10:24

Last night Tom and I went to my parents' house to use their lovely cable to watch the series finale of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Two hours of it at once is almost too much for my poor little heart. Well, not really. I loved every second of it ( Read more... )

*not reading spoilers*

=)

i watched the first season a few months ago and should really get around to watching the rest of it! good stuff. (and, interesting note: the water benders do Wu-style tai-chi, which is the form that branchandroot and I study. yum.)

ps: what are you doing friday night. my plans for next weekend are uncertain, but they might involve seeing Measure for Measure in Schiller park. Wanna come? I hope I'll know soon what my actual plans are (contingent in part upon the choices of others). But if it works I'd love to see you.

*joys*

I figured the moves were based on something. ^_^ That's pretty cool. Now if only you could move water with it...

Friday I must work late (until past 11:00). >_< I'm terribly disappointed, as Measure for Measure is one of the few plays by Shakespeare that I' haven't seen performed.

I've never seen M4M either. If I don't get to see it this weekend, it'll probably because I'm in Cleveland seeing Hamlet AND Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, which I've never seen, but have read.

Yup. Each of the four element-bender styles are based pretty directly on a different martial form. Fire = Shaolin kung-fu. I think air is Bagua. I don't remember about Earth.

The Iroh and Zuko reunion scene made me cry too. But I have been really overly emotional of late...Naw, I'd still have cried. I love Iroh ♥ Himeji!Laura and I both agree about the mom needing resolution. I think she's dead and they couldn't say it on a kids show, hence why they just left it the way it did. Or they will make an Avatar Special/Movie where everyone goes on a quest to find her. I am also thinking the DVD will have some extra scenes thrown it, so maybe it will be in there? There were scenes in the commercials that weren't in the last two episodes after all... I can't wait to watch them again at the cabin with you and the Opal! Be warned, I squee.

You squee? ^__^ Then you're in good company, my dear. I'm a Zuko fangirl, but I've been known to squeal and Aang and Katara, too.

You make a good point about setting up a sequel with the story of Zuko's mom. ::ponders:: That would be good. I was distressed about the fact that the group would probably break up after this, and a reunion quest would be perfect. ♥
