TDL Icon Request Post

Jun 04, 2009 09:06

So, are you totally wanting some new DL icons? I know I am! Request them here: a quote, a ship, some of the awesome fanart that’s been posted (as long as the artist says it’s okay, of course), anything goes! Icons will be edited into the post under a cut after they're made, and anyone is welcome to jump in. :D :D :D

i would ADORE an icon of the quote "i understand. many people mistake me for a blueberry scone," or the proper quote if i messed it up. (i tragically lent my copy to a friend, and it's not with me)

thanks in advance!

Done! My book's at home, but I'll check it tonight, and if needed I'll update the icon with proper wording tomorrow. :)

Hi, I've updated the blueberry scone icon with the exact quote from the book. :D I'm glad you like it!

Ah so frustrating...I have several quotes I really, really want icons of but they are so spoilerific that I know I would never be able to use them!

I know there are also some Alan quotes I really, really want icons of but I left my book in Exeter and so will not have them until I buy a new copy tomorrow. So until then, there is just this one:

'Do demons have disco fever?' (Or whatever that actually is meant to be!)

I know this is not exactly a DL icon, but I would love an icon like the Romeo and Juliet one for the Zombie Boyfriend tee shirt?

Or something with "tall, dark and carrying a lethal weapon". Or, arg. I might be back after I've gone through and found all the things I wrote "hee!" next to...

I made a Tall, Dark and Carrying a Lethal Weapon icon - *points to icon*. I don't know if that was what you had in mind, though.

I would like one for "people were always upset to hear someone like Alan casually saying things like 'easier prey'"

and, since I like my bookmark of this quote so much

"I mean," Jamie said, "how interesting and not at all creepy!"

Done! I made two variants of the Jamie one, too. :)

Thank you for offering! I would love an icon of Nick, and the quote, "I caught you young too." With the hindsight of the end of the book, that line totally breaks my heart :)

I second this! That line tore my heart into tiny itty pieces upon the re-read. In fact, I will go ahead and type out the scene:

"Did I hurt you?"

"No, that was the stupid birds."

"They're very intelligent, actually," Alan told him as if he was under the impression Nick cared at all. He squinted and pinched the lips of the wound, taping them together. Then he set to work on Nick's arm. "If you catch them young, you can teach them to talk."

"I don't see what the big deal about that is," Nick said. "I can talk."

Alan pushed him gently; he still apparently hadn't absorbed the fact that Nick was twice as broad across the shoulders as he was, and that Alan would really have to try to hurt him. "Well, I caught you young too. Anyway, I think a raven might've been easier--"

There was a noise outside.

Nick placed his hand over Alan's mouth, cutting off all that fond reminiscing nonsense, and slid off the kitchen counter.

I really think that might be my favorite scene in the entire book. It says so much with so little.

I am currently doing my own impression of a lame stork glee dance. WIN. It's so lovely! ALAAANNN. Why must he be so fictional? Sigh.
