This weekend I hung out at the velodrome and drank Sparks (fun!), hung out at home and watched anime, and hung out with Adam and his parents. It was super, super chill. I needed that.

Oh, also, you may recall that I really wanted these shoes. They finally had them in my size at Urban Outfitters, so I bought them on Friday. They are the shit. Adam

They don't really have open hours. It's the same here -- you need to be a member and you have to take lessons to learn how to ride it properly. Occasionally (a couple times a year during big events such as the races this weekend) they will let street fixie riders onto the track for their own races. I didn't have my fixie, though, so I didn't ride. I'd like to finish the lessons and get comfortable on the track. Adam has a membership and rides there once or twice a week.

Sparks. It's like drinking vodka and Red Bull. Gets you right fucked up.

Skidding? You can't skid in a velodrome! You'd fall right off! You have to maintain a certain speed, because the track is so angled that if you didn't, you'd just slip right down. You have to slow down gradually and then get down into the inside ring. I suppose you could skid there, but that wouldn't be all that special.

I tried to invent a name for the vodka and Red Bull. Is there already a name for it? I'm currently calling the concoction Flash.
