Your transformations always inspire awe. The layering of metaphor on metaphor (such as in the example of cognitive dissonance turned sonic dissonance turned carrion flies) was so smoothly executed that it's as adroit as a magician's sleight of hand, and the result is no less magical. I had not hoped for a conclusion so comforting, and now I marvel in how the structure of the poem has a transformation to parallel its message.
This was really wonderful! I especially liked the first large stanza, as well as "the notes harmonizing/into a crescendo of alignment." Your imagery was excellent as well.
My takeaway from this is, sometimes we have to let go of ideas we once thought belonged to us - as integrated as to be considered making up a part of who we thought we are, even - because we find as we try to move on in life while carrying them, they don't sit right in us or with us, and when we do, we come into a new kind of harmony with who we are without them. I'm sure I'm just attaching my own perspective here, but at least I like that thought this conjured.
What I love about poetry, is that every reader will bring their own perspective to filter it through, so one poem can live many lives. I adore your interpretation. Thank you for sharing your insight.
