Sokka the 57th - [Action/Voice]

Feb 06, 2011 01:41

[Sokka has some messages to knock out of the way. He doesn't bother with a filter for the first one, mainly because he feels like being somewhat of a jerk and making light of Haruhi's ridiculous relationship with her 'minions'. In spite of that, Sokka's tone is pretty flat. There's no excitement here and it's pretty obvious through the message ( Read more... )

An apology is a good start. [ she pauses. ] And something delicious and thoughtful usually helps after that. Chocolates.

[Practical advice, Buffy. Normally it would work in most situations, in which case he wouldn't be asking. Maybe he should have been more specific? So with a disappointed note:]

I already did the apology. [...] And I think this is a little past the chocolates stage.

[ past it? well, that gives her a good enough indication of just what degree of hurt they're talking about. ] Then flash won't work. Be there, be constant. You gotta remind whoever it is that you're still that same person who really cares about them and that a mistake is a mistake.

[Oh. Well okay, that's actually not bad.]

So... does that mean the whole giving them space angle is a bad move?

Depends on who and what, really. Different people take things differently.

Yeah, that kind of goes without saying.

[Sorry bro, but he's not going to give up personal deets that easily.]

In any case, an apology is always the best start no matter what.

Err... unless they might consider that condescending or not enough, but yes.

Give me a little credit here! I started off with an apology already.

If it's a woman, you're better off just apologizing.

[Okay, here we go! An old guy! You have his attention. Unless you're going to pull a Bumi, he just knows you've like a Pez Dispenser for wisdom and experience.]

But what if you've already done that?

[...word to the wise. Actually calling Mihai the old Pez Dispenser of wisdom and experience will not get you far.]

Did you apologize and say you were wrong, or did you apologize and try to somehow justify or explain your actions? It's an important distinction.

Uh. Just the apology.

[The moment was too tense for either one. But he does make a mental note not to justify this by blaming the Malnosso. He'll take the fall on this one.]

Uhhh... well, it's kind of complicated, you know?

[He kind of wanted to keep sailing on the HMS Hypothetical.]

... hm. [ she's quiet, for a moment. if she really, really thinks about his question, all she can come up with is ... Riku, who protested endlessly it wasn't really his fault.

considering how it never really got better and they ended up getting in a fight and he basically reduced her to uh screaming and crying...

that is totally not the answer Sokka is looking for. THINKING CAPS, CHILDREN. ]

... you know ... I'm not really sure you can. It's just ... if you couldn't do anything about it, how can you make up for it? Though I think ... you should ask. How you can make it up to that person, I mean. If you don't know ... they might.

[Weeeell, he considers that. The effort is appreciated, but he can see that backfiring on him rather spectacularly.]

It's not like I can just take it back. Aaaand I don't think she'd be too happy I couldn't figure this out on my own. [Nevermind that he's asking around about this.]

[Even though Sokka'a being vague and ... totally unenthusiastic, Leon has a feeling he knows what he's talking about.] All done?

[...He also sees that filtered bit, but he's not really sure what to make of it.]

[Sokka will just be all business now.]

Yeah, the casing and stuff should be done. Naoki is gonna take the village half to the barracks and I should have someone who can take the rest to the desert er- beach fort.

So I guess it's all you now.

"Should be"?

I'll have to take a look at both containers before Naoki moves 'em. Are they still over at your shop?

Yeah, they're still here.
