Sokka the 49th - [Action/Written]

Oct 26, 2010 14:25

[It was another day at the Avatar house. Well, minus the lack of Katara. Which meant a quiet breakfast. Too quiet. Suki and Zuko were quiet on their own. But Aang? That wasn't like him. So after cleaning up, he decides to go check on the weird bald monk. Only when he opens up Aang's room... it's an all too familiar sight. It's been emptied out ( Read more... )

[Having gone into the woods to possibly track down what the birds had been fleeing from, Jack (with candle and rope in hand) stumbled upon the boy looking at the carcass.] What did you say? I could not quite hear you, sir.

[It was in fact Momo chattering, but Sokka doens't look up at first.]

Nothing. I was writing in the journal... [Momo scampers off in Jack's direction and Sokka turns his attention that way. He practically falls over as he sees who it is and grabs the nearest weapon nearby... Aang's glider. He holds it out in front of him, belatedly realizing that it looks just as unintimidating in his hands as it does Aang's.]

What do you want!?

I was merely inquiring about the carcass, Sokka...what happened to your arm?

Who are you!? [He does look at his arm, though. Huh? Nothing is wrong with it.]

[... What.]

Punctures to the skull?

Yeah. I'm not even sure if you could call them teeth marks. The shape is all wrong.

Were those the only wounds? Or... perhaps angle the camera toward them.

One second.

[He drags it over. There's the head of a dead skull. There's three holes in the forehead area, each about the width of a bullet hole, but there's no evidence of there being a bullet. The position of the holes are irregular and don't seem to have the signs of being done by claws, fangs, or even a weapon.]

That doesn't sound familiar. Those would have to be some strong fangs or claws.

No kidding. It's only a deer, but... I haven't seen anything like it.

Dear Thunderaxe,

An odd question, that. Cannibals?

Sincerely,

Jack

P.S.: I've noticed the birds have gone quiet. If we were at sea, I'd say there's a squall brewing.

[... sorry Jack, he's not in the mood for letters.]

Not cannibals. I noticed the birds all seemed to leave yesterday.

Yeah, sounds like it. Animals tend to have a better sense for when's something is wrong than we do... [Which he notices in Momo's apprehension to be around the dead buck.]

I'm a doctor, not a zoologist. Can you describe the injury?

Well it's on a deer, first of all. A buck. There's three punctures on the forehead area. They're completely irregular and not very messy, aside from the fact they were bleeding.
