Sokka the 41st - [Action/Voice]

Aug 15, 2010 10:07

[Today was just an average day for the Avatar house... or was it? No, it wasn't just because Winry and her housemates were still there. No, something far more ominous was going on. But hopefully the plumbing would work itself out later. On the other hand, Sokka woke up the same way he ever did. He threw on his clothes, parted his hair, and headed ( Read more... )

[When he spots Paru, he stops and grins. He hasn't seen her for awhile, after all.]

Not in the last few weeks. Why?

Probably just your imagination. [He brushes some hair back and looks over her. Hmmm.] You seem to be in a good mood.

[Some time after getting woken up early by Simon's shouting, Fenimore had gotten dressed, done up her hair, and flounced. By this point, she's discovered that things are getting put back together after the earthquake and all the monsters are gone, which probably means that the grocery store is back in action. Or, at least, she hopes so. She didn't do too badly with the rationing, compared to some, but she's still hungry.

Given that their start points, Sokka's house and the barracks, and their end points, the smithy and the grocery store, are both pretty much right next to each other, it's probably inevitable that they'll encounter each other on the way.

It'll probably take a while for her to recognize Sokka when she sees him, but if he doesn't say anything she'll probably eventually recognize him via the clothes and hair--especially if she's behind him on the road.]

[What's this? As he's walking, his babe-dar suddenly goes off and he stops, glancing behind him. Fenimore. Score.]

'Morning Fenimore. Nice day, isn't it? [Except for those incoming rainclouds, but they still have some time before that.]

[Oh, hey, it's] ...Sokka? [That's...weird. He looks different from when she last saw him. Well, it had been a few days since she had seen him. How fast do beards grow, anyway? ...He still looked too tall, but maybe that's a trick of the distance. She shakes her head and walks up to him. She's a bit tired from getting woken up early and a bit hungry from the rationing, but there's no reason to take it out on him, so she smiles a little instead.]

Well, it's better than last week, and that's good enough for me. [...No, up close he still looks too tall. That's weird. She looks a little confused by the apparent change, even though she's sure she must be imagining things.]

[Most likely missing any of Sokka's morning shenanigans because of sleeping in, Winry heads to the smithy normal time to check up on it. Once there she dons on her apron, and catches the last of Sokka making his voice post.]

Your workers?

[He doesn't see her, busy as he is with his journal. He doesn't even glance back at her.]

Yeah, you and Ed. Who else?

[A frown. She already doesn't like the way he's talking.] Didn't we just agree that there's no 'boss'?

[She stands behind him, arms folded across her chest.] You know, before everything got crazy around here? It wasn't that long ago.

Pretty sure I don't remember that, Winry. [He turns around and blinks. Rubs his eyes and his jaw drops a bit.]

Winry... you... What!?

I think I could use a new sword about now... [Charlotte, as always, seems a little unsure though]

Are you sure, Charlotte? I can help you pick one out, if you like. [He's worried you might kill someone though.]

Absolutely sure, and that'd be really nice of you, Sokka.

[Jack arrives at the smithy and knocks loudly. He's not used to knocking himself. Normally he has a lackey, Mister Canby, to do the knocking for him. This puts him out.]

Hallo! You, there! I find myself in need of a sword. Now.

[Out steps Sokka. He's bearded! He's taller! He's not scrawny! He's holding a broom!]

Eh? You're in the right place. [You're not a hot lady, so he's not really too enthused.]

So it would seem, boy. [Jack, who of course KNOWS Sokka, is confused by the new appearance, but is too much of a gentleman to show it.]

I require it immediately. Go to.

[This new look for Jack? Sokka does not recognize it.]

Over here. [You're not the only uppity noble he's had today. And here they are at the swords display.] Just find one you like.
