Otherwise a hard shell case protects better than a rubber case and the crystal screen protector ($15) that you can get at any Apple Store keeps the screen from getting scratched.

I put it in my right front pants pocket. Anything that would scratch it goes in the left front pants pocket.

I am exceedingly low-tech with this.

I just bought the InCase black rubber thingme and the anti-glare film from Power Support. I like that the case slips on and off easily and the rubber makes it grip. maybe not the most indestructible, but I tend to keep the iPhone in my purse (camera bag). I love the non-glare screen protector.
