  1. Having the new bathroom makes a person want to re-do the deck. Myabe I should start by refinishing the part of the living room wall that fell out when the contractor put in the medicine cabinet. That would be a good tonight project. I wasn't going to pay him to re-texture and paint it - but he did a great job of building in a new wall after the ( Read more... )

Try that with a house built in 1867!

Sigh.

Sorry about the other stuff.

Yeah - actually considering we live in Oregon (have you heard that it rains a little out here) - the walls were in surprisingly good shape when our guy opened them up.

How very new-age of you. Just cause it's non-contact doesn't mean we aren't competitive! Actually, that's a good thing - it keeps you on track. The power of not-falling-behind everyone else is a strong motivator if one has trouble getting one's ass to an exercise class on a regular basis. Must be working, cause I've made it almost twice a week or more for over a year and I've never stuck with anything like that before (climbing is different). I'm in better shape than when we last saw each other, to be sure - although that was so long ago :( that I'm not sure that would be obvious at all.

I love your house.

I love how it's three different levels and three drastically different temperatures. (At least it was when I was there during that heat wave.)

I felt like I was in an ashram in India on the top floor while I was there and if I wanted cool I'd go sit on the stairs on the basement.

How's the kitchen looking? Didn't you do a remodel there too not too long ago?

We had countertops made, I think since you were here, and replaced a couple appliances, but that's it. Oh, it's very much 3 temperatures. I suppose I should bit the bullet and put in AC - but honestly, I enjoy complaining about not having it too much!

I wouldn't think it would be a problem any other time than maybe those two weeks a year when it gets really hot.

And even then, you get used to it.

BTW, if you ever need a housesitter again, I'm ready to bolt at a moment's notice over here. I'm just sayin'...
