Yup. Adventureland was made better because Jesse was one of the leads and without a sparkly vampire to encourage Kristen to be a hack, the lead pairing worked.

Great essay, especially part about Jesse. My thoughts exactly. And damn, I hope it will pays off - and I hope it's not his last nomination. I can't wait for his new projects - so far nothing very interesting, but I am sure behind the scenes wheels are rolling.
Jesse is building his career at the moment, and I hope it pays off.

And by the way, I am not really sure I want him to win this Oscar. Nomination is great, it will open a lot of doors and projects for him, but winning will add extra weight on his shoulders.

This was really interesting to read. I am not that interested in awards shows (except when they provide opportunities for cute snuggles between attractive people), but you make a convincing argument.
