Stolen from Raphi and Nico.

1. Pick a pairing or a character
2. Ask me my particular headcanon regarding something about them
3. Post to your journal to share your own headcanon!

Just FE, please-- I don't have developed headcanon about other fandoms.

Heheh. I see Elly as being a couple of years older than Merric and as distinctly bourgeois. When Merric shows up with his bright attitude and his ties to Altean nobility, Elly is predisposed not to like him. Then Merric charms the socks off Wendell, and Elly has even more reason not to like him. Plus Merric is a joker and a bit of a prankster, which really gets under Elly's skin. But the final straw is this-- they could've had a down'n'dirty rivalry, and Elly might have respected Merric for it, but Merric wants to be friends no matter how Elly treats him, and that's just not gonna work.

What is your headcanon on the final fate of Abel and Est? Together, and apart.

My headcanon says Est fled to Valencia and dropped into Jesse's kingom. Jesse always had a soft spot for her, and after she'd recovered from the whole bitter ordeal, they married and had a son. Jesse died in his forties from an infected wound and Est moved to Alm and Cellica's court because she was lonely. She saw Catria on visits when Catria played ambassador, but she never saw Palla again.

Abel never thought of Valencia, and spent decades combing every corner of Archanea before stumbling back to Altea in his declining years. My 'fic "Homecomings" pretty much covers that in excruciating detail. :)

I don't see them getting together ever again. I prefer to let my canon trainwrecks remain so, for the benefit of all the other foolish teenaged lovers.

Any thoughts on how/why Innes decided to focus on archery, or other what other skills he might pursue outside that?

Honestly, I think Innes doesn't like horses. Either he had a bad experience as a child and decided horses were beneath him, or he doesn't "gel" with them and doesn't like being dependent on some big beast that can have a mind of its own. So, instead of being a mounted archer like his father, he overcompensated by becoming a brilliant archer who doesn't need a damn pony.

I think Joshua opens his eyes to gambling and he becomes quite the expert in gaming. :D

Ephraim/L'Arachel

Hm. This is my preferring pairing for Ephraim, but I don't see Ephraim/Tana as healthy for either of them so that's not saying much. I think it's mostly a physical relationship without a lot of spiritual/mental communion; he's attracted to her, and she's attracted to and proud of him despite her protestations of virtue. In that sense, the relationship is good for producing heirs, so yay for them on that count. They are not unhappy, or at least L'Arachel's not, and Ephraim doesn't exactly know that he's not happy. It works, but I wouldn't want to be them.

Politically, it's a borderline disaster. Ephraim is over-stretched already with Renais and Grado, and distant, isolated Rausten never warms up to their Queen's consort. The territories are never welded into one mega-state; Rausten goes to their daughter and the rest of the mess to their son.

and/or some Elice headcanon!

Merric/Linde... man, it could go so many ways. One thing that I find plausible is that, after marriage to Elice, Merric finds she's a little too remote and... touched by the divine? And Linde's there, more on his level, and so warm and sweet and attentive... and Elice is kind of okay with it all. And so there's a bit of a menage a trois thing going on, in the end. Nobody's angsting. It's not even really a scandal ( ... )
