"Be ware," Jack warns. It's too hot to be touched, and he can't tell Jo's intent well enough.

"Is this the mark?"

Jo crouched down next to it.

"I saw it in the school."

Not touching it.

"Its been years" She paused. She craned her head to get a better look. Different perspectives. "But it looks different. I couldn't tell you which part is, but I don't think it's the same."

Jo stood. "Not that this is anything like home."

"Not like anyone's home," Jack remarks. "Would that we knew what it meant."

Jo nodded, standing.

Looking out into eerie unending blackness around them not helping.

"Should we check after the amusement park?"

[ineveryport]

"Aye," Jack agrees. "Good plan."

Then it is back to the stairs, following after Jack and the light.

Her fingertips grazing the banister as she walked, staring at his hair and stained shirt in the shadows, thinking of little.

The door would open soon enough and they would....

Apparently have chasms. Everywhere. Again. Except in one direction.

Jack draws up sharply, not happy with being surprised, for a second. Then, with a shrug and a smirk and a joke's on me attitude, he nods in that one direction.

"After you."

"You just want to stare at my ass."

Jo smirked at Jack, before taking the lead. It was better than swearing at the constant.

Their path was blocked everywhere but the singular walk north of the docks. The amusement park was beyond them in the far distance, but their path stopped at a ladder leading downward and sign next to it relating it as the Sewer for Lakeside Amusement Park.

The cover over the ladder was lying to the side as if recently used.

"I'm not covered in enough crap already?" Jo muttered, as she kicked the cover even further away, leaving open the dark way into the sewer.
