Jo rubbed her eyes as the white light faded on them being - fuck, who knew really. Some new place in the same nightmare world that wasn't the same place they'd been seconds ago.

"I'm getting tired of that trick," she muttered, darkly.

At least she didn't have to carry the damn pyramid again and could have both hands on her gun, which was presently being reloaded to full as her gaze flicked sharply around this new location.

"Ready for that to be the last," Jack agrees, turning his wrist in circles to loosen it.

"Onwards, I presume."

The elevator hums and shakes for a long time before halting with a ding.

The doors slide open to reveal a hallway of doors, all stained and old. It's almost exactly like the nightmare hospital.

Jo was, too. Very. Except that Hell Knock Off World wasn't complying with anything anywhere anytime.

Fucking Delilah. Who's whole helping and telling was blown open.

And what had happened to Alessa? Not that she had any idea where Harry was for reclaiming her, or if she'd be the child he still wanted once the blinders were off.

She snapped the revolver shut with a hard sound as the doors opened.

"Joy. Here, again."

She headed down the hallway, alert for static to sound on the radio, stopping to glance in the first set of windows.

Jack follows close behind, his swords lowered and ready in his hands. Jo stops, and he uses the chance to Read hard into the fog, straining in a way analogous to squinting.

There's nothing to say, right now. Not until there's something to talk about.

Static.

Nurses. Two of them. And a doctor.

She didn't have to say anything. The radio said it all.

Jo dodged to one side and ran forward, so she wasn't blocking Jack and started firing. Her aim was for the head of the one closest to them.

She goes high, Jack goes low. He ducks under her line of fire and darts foward, swinging violently at thigh height.

The headshot knocks a nurse over. Her cohort stumbles against Jack's onslaught, scalpel swinging wildly.

The doctor shambles toward Jo, his own scalpel raised high.

"Oh, fuck this."

She shoots again.

It's not enough. Not nearly.

Jo slams into Doctor, taking him down in a hard roll, punching him in the face with her gun, even if it hurts her at the same time.

Jack takes a few seconds to really see to the other nurses in wide, dicing cuts, before he turns back to check on Jo and the Doctor.

Jo is fine.

Dandy even after she --

Punch hated punch being punch here again used punch

-- gets back up to standing, not even looking at the mashed up being beneath her once.

There are doors. The doors obviously needed her attention more than anyone else now that the static is gone. Which caused her to pause when she looked down the hallway.

"That door wasn't there before."

Jack has to look twice. His usual sight being fogged, it's made him more sluggish than he'd like to be.

"No. Then we see what is beyond."

Jo walked down the hallway toward and stopped in front of it.

There were five empty key locks on it, but she reached out to try the handle.

Nothing.

Jack crouches by the lock even before she tries the handle, and peers at them.

"All five will need keys," he says, a little disappointed. Some of these lock set ups only need one to open.

"Up to a treasure hunt?"

It'll be her third time for this since arriving.

Where was Steve now? Was he even alive still?

Jo simply nodded.

"We can sweep the rooms here first."
