Yeah. There are endless stories about her 'misbehaving'. We were concerned as to what else she may have lied about to...

Wow. So, was it just the drinking that turned her into a pathological liar? Or had it become an all-the-time thing?

I don't think you can really be friends with someone like this. You're just an audience for their drama and histrionics, and they never give anything back. Plus, they're exhausting. I'm sorry you lost an entire Christmas to this woman!

Not sure. There is a theme of lack of self esteem in her rantings when she gets drunk.

Apparently she has knocked a lot of the drinking on the head now, as she has a job. I don't know this first hand as, well, you're right. Couldn't be friends with her.

I assume this is a true story? If so, how very sad, both for you and for her.

Oh yeah. It's true.

The fake SO stories were annoying and concerning. Annoying because, well, lies and repetitive ones. Concerning because she had spent so much time making up this 'perfect man' and sometimes fantasy gets in the way of real happiness.

Yeah..i felt sad for her..some people like drama in their life and if it's not there they built it up...and you really can't do anything to help them coz they show as if they love the world in which they are lost..*sigh* And my sympathies for you..:)

Sympathies for her, really. I think she wanted to feel important and enviable and I think she had initially come up with some guff to tell her net friends.

I have come across people telling far more nefarious and damaging porkies on-line and otherwise, but it was weird to see her in action.
