The University of Delaware Professional Training program is unbelievable -- I know about 10 people who have come out of the program, and one there now, and all of them work steadily in regional theatre. They are wanted, their education is respected and everything was paid for...housing, stipends, tuition, everything. They take a small crop of actors (less than 20) every 3 years and only those actors for three years. And the end, those graduate and they take another crop. Right now they are in their second years of this group.... so next year they should be auditioning for the 2008 new group ( ... )

Crap. I pushed the button before I was finished with that.

And it made me lose my train of thought.

Obviously I am just talking out my butt.

But I agree with the above comment. The good school pay for you to go and provide many open doors for you.

Yay.

i worked with the new york stage and film company this summer. i noticed that just about 99% of all the actors i dealt with had their masters, and like 90% of them were from northern east coast schools. just from my own observations, they seem to take care of their own up here.

Lorri speaks true. Delaware is my dream school of many years. You are in the same boat as I am though. We are of the vast majority of 20 something caucasion girls who do stage work. There a zillion of us. This really hindered me. However, you are itsy bitsy and play much younger as well 20 something, so you are lucky in that fact!

Practical-hitting the pavement-experience is invaluable though, and I am glad I've had to go through it.

I am not much help.
