Part of me wonders why I am doing all of this if you don't seem to care all that much.  It bothers my brain

Nobody is ever fully whole dear. We all want something we can't find, and we spend most of our lives looking for it.

Your scales are just tipped to a darker end. You have to do what you feel right, and realize that almost noone will recognize you for your efforts. Alas, that is the way of things.

Just remember, that there are those that only know of your life and trials through your livejournal (like me) and trust that each trial only makes you stronger.
